Hello, Beautiful People! 

I am glad you have found your way to my yoga page.   Two years ago, my passion for yoga led me to becoming a teacher.  I have since learned to teach many different kinds of yoga for many different kinds of people, but my favorite classes are for mothers, babies and children.  

When first coming to my classes, mothers often ask me, "Do you have children?" Many of them are surprised that I don't have any children of my own. I always smile and say, "Well, no, I don't have any kids, but I am the oldest of four. My youngest brother is eight years younger than me and I spent a lot of time with him when he was a baby. I also spent many years as a mother's helper, a babysitter and a nanny. I love kids!" All of what I say is completely true. My journey through life lead me organically to Mommy and Me Yoga. I simply combined my love of babies, children and mothers (women in general) and my love of yoga and I created my yoga classes! I consider myself to be an advocate for women, mothers, babies, children. Offering a type of yoga where mothers can bring their babies and toddlers to the classes is the compassionate service that I can give to stressed-out moms in my city. I believe that providing this space to mothers so that they can take care of their bodies, minds and spirits. Through these classes mothers connect to each other so that they can become friends and support each other.

What is Mommy and Me Yoga?

It's yoga for both mommy and baby, of course! My goal for these classes is to create a warm, casual and friendly environment where mothers feel comfortable breathing and relaxing with their babies and toddlers.  I conceptualize the classes as developmental for both parents and children.   Through yoga meditation, breathing and asana (postures) I facilitate an environment where mothers can naturally practice bonding with their babies.  Connecting to and nurturing the body after giving birth is just as important as doing these things in preparation for birth.  This yoga class is designed to help mothers begin or continue the practice of yoga that now includes their baby or toddler. The extra benefits of this yoga practice include networking and sharing mother and parenting information (making friends!), and learning to balance parent-child dependence and independence. Finally, the classes are meant to be light-hearted and fun--a celebration of spending this precious time with your little one.
